Description
As a Theatre / Perioperative Registered Nurse, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team, supporting patients throughout the perioperative journey..
Depending on your experience and the facility, you may work across one or more perioperative areas including anaesthetics, scrub/scout, or recovery (PACU).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high‑quality perioperative nursing care
- Prepare operating theatres, equipment and instrumentation
- Assist in scrub, scout, anaesthetics and/or recovery areas
- Monitor patients pre‑ and post‑operatively
- Maintain infection control, safety and sterile field standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff
- Accurately document patient care and clinical information
- Contribute to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives

Desirable Experience
- Experience across multiple perioperative specialties
- Rural or regional nursing experience
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) or relevant perioperative certifications
Requirements
Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration
Minimum two years’ post‑graduate nursing experience
Demonstrated experience in a theatre or perioperative setting
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Scrub/Scout
Anaesthetics
Recovery (PACU)
Strong knowledge of infection control and sterile technique
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to different theatre environments and clinical settings
